In 2000, the Pantone Colour Institute created the Pantone Colour of the Year as a trendsetting concept. For the very first time, the Pantone Colour of The Year for 2022 has been created especially for the occasion. As this new year begins, the Institute wanted to recognize the significant ways our lives have changed with the pandemic and, as a result, how our collective creativity is expanding to new levels to meet our current reality. 

Prior to 2022, all previous colours were chosen from the existing colours in the Pantone Color System. Without further ado, the brand-new colour and the 2022 Pantone Colour of the Year is Very Peri!
